About
the Salon
Each year the Association of Ibero-American Cultural Attaches
is proud to present the "Ibero-American Art Salon" in
Washington, DC. After seventeen editions, the Association has
succeded in creating a space to promote the cultural values of
ibero-America and the immense artistic diversity that depicts
the essence of our countries by presenting exhibits using many
different media: painting, etching, photography, cartoons, etc.
After the Cultural Center of the Inter-American Development Bank
organized and presented the successful IV inter-American Biennial
of Video-Art in different Latin-American and European cities,
the Association worked with the Center to complete the seelection
of projects that would represent all of the Ibero-American nations
to then bring the XVIII Ibero-American Art Salon to the audiences
of Washington, DC. We are happy to oce again offer the opportunity
to encounter some of the best works of the contemporary artists
of our region and we are especially pleased to include this very
modern artistic medium of Video-Art this year. |

synopsis
This work plays with such concepts as perception,
image, and time. With a passive character in a scene
where nothing is moving, this image experiments with
the false perception of frozen time. What is this
waiting about? Perhaps it is an image frozen in time,
perhaps it is time frozen within an image. |
